Prototype Chroma Survivor
PROTOTYPE
ChromaSurvivor is a top-down auto-battler / wave survival game built in Godot 4, centered on a paint-theory color system.
Core Concept
The player commands a squad of colored fairies that automatically fight incoming waves of enemies. Each enemy has one or more color vulnerabilities, and only a fairy of the matching color (or a secondary color that contains it) can deal full damage to it — a direct application of RYB pigment mixing: Red + Yellow = Orange, Yellow + Blue = Green, Red + Blue = Purple.
Gameplay Loop
- Wave combat — Fairies hover and chase enemies within their zone, auto-attacking on a timer. Enemies scale in HP and speed each wave. Every 3rd wave is an Elite; every 7th is a Boss.
- Market phase — After each wave, a short or intermediate market opens. Players spend Ink (in-run currency) to recruit new fairies, apply upgrades, or trigger fusions.
- Overdrive — A shared gauge fills with every fairy attack. When full, the player can manually trigger a 10-second Overdrive that doubles all fairy attack speeds, accompanied by a chromatic screen flash and camera shake.
Meta-Progression
Between runs, players spend Prisms (earned per run) in the Constelation (meta-tree) to permanently unlock:
- Secondary fairy fusions (Orange, Green, Purple)
- Bonus max HP per run
- Fairy Spell
