BattleWeave - demo
You will never choose an attack in this game.
You hand out mana and movement. Each character decides for itself what that buys.
## One board
Two camps, twenty-four cells, one contact line down the middle. The frontier is
open: a rogue can slip behind the front line to reach the mage at the back — and
an orc can do the same to you. Walk into an occupied cell and the two units
**swap places**.
Range is counted in ranks. A warrior parked at the back reaches nobody. That is
what makes ADVANCE a real card.
## What you actually control
Five cards a turn: mana, steps, a burst of speed. Give a mage two mana and he
throws a fireball. Give him three and a step backwards and he lays a wall of
fire instead. Same character, same turn, different hand.
## Everything is announced
Enemies show the **cell** they will strike, before you commit. Moving is dodging.
The initiative die is rolled and shown *before* you plan, never after — you don't
plan against a die, you plan with one. A HASTE card, a slow heavy strike, a quick
jab: each shifts its bearer in the order, and the bar recomputes as you deal.
Which matters, because actions **fuse**. The mage sets a tile alight, then the
archer shoots through it — a flaming arrow. The archer is naturally faster than
the mage, so getting the fire down first is a decision, not a coincidence.
## The tower
Twenty floors, a turn limit on each, and a route you pick yourself. Fights and
elites. A merchant who sells cards and — for a price — burns one out of your deck
for the rest of the run. Rest stops where you either heal the party or drag one
of the dead back up. Events, treasure, artifacts.
Bosses that grapple you out of position, or drop the floor out from under you.
Between runs, shards buy permanent unlocks. Within a run, three quests to chase —
and a werebear named Teddy, who will fight at your next boss if you pay him. He
takes no orders.
